Family Portrait’s print derives from a family portrait photograph shot in 1974 (Lunisolar Calendar) with an overlay of original 1980’s lace paper. This image features my Family lineage (both past and present) from the left to the right: My Father, Second Uncle, Third Uncle, Cousin Margaret, Second Aunt and my Aunt Peggy

I have continually been fascinated by this photograph since mum had shown it to me; for its capture of memory, texture, fashion and stillness. I am extremely lucky to have this photograph as it also features my mother’s handwriting which she was able to mark a time in our ancestry and history. I am reminded to remember my past so that I can honour the present..
